Pharmacy Technicians at Village Medical Pharmacy work in tandem with their pharmacists and in collaboration with the providers at VillageMD to provide the highest quality of care for our mutual patients. In addition to dispensing medications, Village Medical Pharmacy is heavily involved with Medication Synchronization, Chronic Medication Management, and other patient-oriented services.

We opened Village Medical Pharmacy to create a full service care experience for the patient, and are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In collaboration with pharmacists and providers you will assist in the day to day operations of the pharmacy while delivering the highest quality of care to our patients.

How You Can Make a Difference
  • Assisting the pharmacist in preparing medications, including data entry, and assembly Handling prescription delivery and mail-out services to our patients and other facilities
  • Preparing, organizing, and maintaining prescription records, invoices, and other reports
  • Maintaining pharmacy inventory, including checking in orders, assessing on-hand counts, anticipating future needs, and removing and processing out-of-dates/recalls/expired products
  • Assisting in prior authorizations, medication synchronization, and medication therapy management
  • Maintaining open communication with the pharmacist and pharmacy manager to facilitate collaboration with providers
  • Handling telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians
  • Processing (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performing other clerical duties as requested by the pharmacy manager
  • Promoting and assisting patients' utilization of our pharmacy services
  • Answering patients' requests by communicating effectively in-person or over the phone

  • Professional demeanor while providing world-class, professional, and friendly service to both the team and our patients
  • Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations for taking and dispensing prescriptions
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills to work with and serve a wide-range of patients
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of integrity and dependability
  • Attention to detail and follow-through necessary to provide detailed transitions of care with the providers

Experience To Drive Change
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • PTCB Certification, current and in good standing
  • Registered with Texas State Board of Pharmacy, current and in good standing
  • 1+ years of retail pharmacy experience required
  • Hospital pharmacy or mail order specialty experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
